Dog Vacay* + A Staycation!

8The kind people over at Dog Vacay* hooked it up this week! They provided us with one of their trusted dog sitters for Dexter on Monday night and a super fun staycation in our very own town, San Luis Obispo. For those of you who know Josh and I, we are rarely seen without Dex, so this was an unusual treat! We decided to book a room at Granada Hotel & Bistro right in the heart of downtown SLO. After a long work week/weekend in LA, this opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time! Not having to worry about where Dex would stay for the night was a plus, as Granada unfortunately doesn’t allow pets. Our experience at the hotel was amazing to say the least! We loved the simplicity and attention to detail throughout.

If you’re ever visiting and looking for a nice place to dine, this is a great option. Their cocktails are delicious too! Throughout the evening, we received picture texts from Dex’s sitter to let us know how (and what) he was doing. We loved knowing that all was well with him. Yep, we are crazy dog parents who dislike being away from him for long periods of time!

2014-07-29_0001Josh and I had a much needed leisurely morning–we lounged, we read, we drank coffee. Since we’ve never stayed at Granada before, it really felt like we were away on vacation! With the remaining time we had left, we took a couple of their Linus bikes out for a spin and headed to the newly opened Huckleberry Market–a floral studio/gift shop with the best supplies for dinner parties and creative gatherings.

After our ride, we checked out and it was time to get our boy. He was so happy to see us (don’t let the picture below fool you!). We are so so grateful to the people over at Dog Vacay for providing us with a night of rest and relaxation. Dog Vacay really is the perfect site to use for pet owners who travel often and are in need of pet sitters around the world! We’re thinking we’ll soon be regulars. Oh! And for you, my dear readers, Dog Vacay is offering $10 off your first reservation. Use the code IARTU at checkout to receive the discount! Enjoy!
